Following a degree in psychology, James has spent 20 years in leadership roles across government, creative and charity sectors, specialising in behaviour change, marketing and brand strategy.
James was responsible for the UK’s most trusted brand at Macmillan Cancer Support for seven years, where he also led a 35-strong brand and creative department. James has a proven record of leading transformational change programmes, including their largest rebrand for 10 years.
James’ passion is helping others to prepare for transformation, lifting their performance with a calm demeanour and authentic style that both inspires and empowers. His coaching centres on the belief that we’re all resourceful, and that the mind that holds the problem, also holds the best solution.
There’s no fixed process for coaching with James and he will always follow the client’s agenda to help progress their thinking and move closer to their individual or shared goals. Whether that’s building resilience, establishing boundaries, communicating more effectively through rapid change, or navigating challenging relationships, James combines a careful blend of challenge and support to help individuals, groups and teams to improve their self and social-awareness, leading to greater leadership effectiveness and fulfilment.
James is an Associate Certified Coach and member of the International Coaching Federation. James is also a non-executive Director at The Charity for Civil Servants.
